Ballin on a Budget: My DIY Microbead Manicure Vs. 18€ Ciaté Caviar Manicure

Caviar.  Sounds luxurious right? Maybe that’s why I am so obsessed with this new nail art trend! I must confess I am the least artistic person ever. I can’t draw a straight line or perfect circle for the life of me. This simple manicure is so easy to do! I love it.

All you need is your favorite nail polish, micro beads and topcoat.  That’s it!
You can find Micro beads at your local craft store. They should be no more than 5 dollars.   They are tiny little metallic beads that resemble Caviar therefore the name Caviar Manicure.  Ciaté has trade marked the name “Caviar Manicure” so this is my Micro Bead Manicure inspired by Ciaté.

Application Steps:
1. Its easier if you work 1 Nail at a time.
2.  Simply apply 1 or 2 coats of your favorite nail polish
3.  Immediately after you apply the coat of nail polish, pour or sprinkle the beads over your nails. (you should work over a paper plate to hold and save your beads)
4.  You can press or fix the beads carefully with your finger or a woodstick.
5. Let it dry a couple of minutes then simply apply 1 or 2 coats of Top Coat
6. Move on to the next nail

Here are some image of the Micro bead Manicures I have created with my own supplies.  The nail art beads are from Amazing Shine

They have a set of beads for sale on Ohmybeauty.com for $19.99 but you get 12 colors.

The official Ciaté Caviar Manicure set is only available in the UK for 18 Euros

The Ciaté Caviar Manicure will be available at Sephora but will retail around $25

I love the finished look but be warned this manicure will not last very long.  It’s perfect for a night out or a special occasion but even with multiple layers of top coat the beads will chip or fall off.  It’s very easy to do. Try it ;)

“You don’t need a lot money to feel luxurious.  You just need creativity.”

Cosmoprof Bologna 2012 Part 1: Featuring @Graftobian @NYXCosmetics Nicka K Cosmetics

The Cosmoprof Trade Shows are the biggest International exhibitions for the entire spectrum of beauty products. They have them annually in Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Bologna.  Its the event where companies unveil the latest trends, new products, new technology and any other special events.  The Pavilions are divided by Countries and departments such as Cosmetics, Packaging, Salon Tools, Spa, Hair and Nails.  Its huge! You cant go through the entire show in one day.  That's why most of these trade shows will go for at least 3 - 4 days.

I attended Cosmoprof Bologna on March 9th -12th  I exhibited in the US Pavilion with my company. Just to go through all of the items I am dividing my post into 2.  Here is the first part of my Cosmoprof Swag! These products are from the US Pavillion and were mostly gifted.
Exhibiting in the US Pavilion is Great because you get to see all your favorite well known Brands.  Our booth was next to Kiss Products, Nicka K Cosmetics and NYX Cosmetics.

Nicka K Cosmetics

Our friendly neighbors from  Nicka K Cosmetics were very generous and gifted us with some of their new products.  I have actually never used Nicka K Cosmetics before.  They are based in new york and have a nice new presentation.  They gifted us with some Face&Body Shimmer, Lip Color Gloss in Clear, Eye Light Crayon in Aquamarine and an Art Liner pen in Black.  I am actually really excited to wear  the Art liner Pen. I go through Black Eyeliner alot!  They ere also kind to gift us with items from their Absolute! line including their new solid perfume sticks and makeup remover wipes.  One can never have enough of those!

 Graftobian

Graftobian has got to be one of my favorite professional makeup lines.  The quality is excellent and its made in the US.  I don't know about you but when I know a product is made in the US it immediately elevates the quality reassurance for me.  I actually just stopped by the booth to pick up one of their Face Painting books.  I picked up Volume 2 of the Disguise Stix series. I think it was something like 5 euros which is like 7 dollars or something.  I feel horrible for not remembering the name of the Booth manager but I told him how much I loved Graftobian and how I Freelance on the side and he gifted me with 2 of their Makeup Learning Series DVD's! I got the Airbrush Face and Body Art DVD and the HD Makeup 101 DVD. I am so excited to learn some new tricks.  Thank You Graftobian!

NYX

The main thing that attracts me to NYX is their packaging.  NYX has really evolved in the last 10 years to a major international brand.  Our next door neighbors at the US pavilion were so generous to gift us with one of their gift bags!  The gift bag included a Bronzer&Blusher combo "Sunrise in Bali" I think I will be using it a lot this summer! Roll on Shimmer in Onyx, Jumbo Pencil in Sparkle Green, Xtreme Lip Creme in XLC 09? (I don't know if that's the name?) It seems kind of like an OCC Liptar. If any one's ever used this please share your comments with me!  Also Mood Lipgloss and Provocateur Mascara.  I'm so excited to try out all these NYX products.  Thank you NYX!

I am only halfway into my swag! These are all the items that were gifted to me.  Part 2 will consist of the items I purchased during the last day of Cosmoprof which is the day when all the sample sales take place!
Thanks for reading! and please check part 2!
